POOMSE: Hwa-Rang - Named after the Hwa-Rang youth group wich originated in the Silla Dynasty about 1350 years ago.    This group eventually became the actual driving force for the unification of the three kingdoms of Korea.    The 29 movements refer to the 29th Infantry Division, where Tae Kwon Do developed into maturity.

COMBOS: A red belt should practice applying feinting (faking out) techniques.
  1. Elevation Front Kick, Jump Level II Front kick
  2. Fist shake, kiap, switch stance, Level II round, Level II round, Spinning heel kick
  3. Level II round, Level II round, Tornado round kick, spinning hook kick
  4. Level III Round kick, Reverse Punch, Level II Round Kick, Jump front Reverse Back Kick
SELF-DEFENSE: Be prepared to demonstrate all previous defense techniques at any time.

BOARD BREAKS: Spinning heel kick or Flying side kick.

TERMINOLOGY:
  • Bandul Cha-gi - Crescent Kick
  • Twi o-cha-gi - Jumping kick
  • Maggi - Block
  • Chi-gi - Strike
  • Sogi - Stance
